Never Thought I'd Love Again (Second Chance) - Chapter 6

Leen and Quen went to Devon's house....They entered Devon's house and went straight to her room and she's still asleep...and Quen shouted..


"Devs,Wake Up!!" Quen shouted. but Devon is still asleep.


"Hmm,I have a better idea of waking her up" Leen said and winked at Quen.


They went to the kitchen and got some pots and spatula and went again to Devon's room...when they got there they stricken the pots with the spatulas which causes loud noise and is enough to woke Devon up..


"Hey! You two! Disturbing my sleep! Urghh!" Devon said.Irritated.


"Hey Best! It's already 12 noon!" Leen said and jumped in Devon's bed.


"What?!" Devon  got up from her bed. "Why didn't you woke me up early?"


"Well I already shouted for how many times but you're still asleep...so Leen got the idea of striking the pots and Yeah! that woke you up." Quen said and they laughed.


"Yeah,that really woke her up.." Leen said. "So,Best! what should we do first?"


"I think I should get a shower and you two wait here..Okay?" Devon said.


"Okay" the two said.


Devon went to the bathroom and took a shower...after almost 30 minutes she's done..then she changed clothes and got out from the bathroom and went to her room..


"Finally you're done."  Quen said.


"So,what should we do first?" Leen asked.


Devon looked at her bed and saw her stuffed toys which James gave her. "I think we should start first at the stuffed toys." She said. 


"You sure?" Leen asked.


"Yes!" Devon said and smiled.


"Okay." 


"So,Let's start?" Quen asked.


"Kay!" Devon and Leen said.


They started getting the stuffed toys and put it in a box after that they gathered all the clothes that James gave to Devon...next the letters he gave and last their pictures...they were done for almost 3 hours and they were hungry... 


"I think we should eat" Quen said.


"Yeah!" Leen said.


"But...you should treat us?" Devs said.


"Yeah,that would be great..Let's go Devs" Leen said.


"Haha.Let's go!" Devs said.


"You two are really like sisters.." Quen said and laughed.


Quen followed the two and they ate at a food chain...after eating they took Devon home...

When Devon and Sam got out from Starbucks...Fretzie was shocked when she saw her cousin with a guy...


"Ahh Devz!" Fretzie said.


"Why?" Devz said.


"Who is that guy with you?" 


"Oh this guy? He's Sam." Devz said and continued."Uhmm, Sam!"


"Yes?" Sam said.


"Ahh,Sam this is Fretzie my cousin..Fretzie,he's Sam"


"Nice to meet you." Sam said and smiled at Fretzie.


"Same here...So,Devz where should we go first?" Fretzie said.


"I guess we should go first at some clothes shop...Uhmm Sam,you sure you wanna come?"


"Yes" he said and smiled.


"So,Let's go?" fretz asked.


"Yeah!" Devz said


They went to some clothes shop and buy clothes...after that they went to buy sneakers and some sandals from a shoe store...that took 3 hours and Devz was hungry..


"So,where do you want to eat?" Devz asked.


"Hmm,I think we can eat at the Italian restaurant at the first floor." Sam said.


"I think that's a good idea" Fretz said and laughed.


"Okay,let's go" Devz said.


"Kay..uhmm Devon?" Sam said.


"Yes?" Devz said.


"I think,I will carry some of your shopping bags" he said and smiled.


"Uhmm,I don't think so.I can handle it" Devz said and  smiled at Sam.


"I'm serious..I will carry these for you" he said and smiled


"You sure?"


"Yes"


"Okay." Devon handed Sam some of the shopping bags.


"So can we eat now?" Fretzie asked.


"Uhh,Yes!" Devz said and they went to the restaurant Sam was saying.


when they got there to the restaurant..they ordered their food and started eating..when they are finished..Devon and Fretzie went home while Sam was left in the mall waiting for Arron..

Devon was in Starbucks waiting for Fretzie....she took a sip from her coffee when she saw a familiar face coming towards her...


"Devon?" the guy said.


"Sam?" Devon said.


"Glad you still remember me" Sam said and took a sit. "So,what are you doing here?"


"I'm waiting for Fretzie..You,what are you doing here?"


"Nothing..Just want to be alone but since you're here..I think I have someone to talk to" He said and smiled.


"Oh okay" she laughed.


"So,is it okay if I ask you something?" he asked.


"Yes,what is it?" she said.


"Uhmm..about the day when I saw you in the park crying,thinking about something..I just want to ask what or who is the reason why you crying.Is it okay?" he said.curiously.


"Oh about that..Yes,it is okay if you asked about it..My Ex-boyfriend did that to me.." she sighed and continued. "Oh well,it's already done.I'm moving on now" she said and smiled.


"Oh,is it okay if you tell me his name?" he asked.


"It's James." she said.


"mind to share what happened?" he said and took a sip from his coffee.


"Okay" she said and took a sip from her coffee.


Flashback


"Devz,I have something to tell you" James said.

"W-what is it?" Devz said nervously.

"I want to break up with you." He said.

"But why?!" she asked,tears started to fall.

"I'm leaving for Australia and I loved someone else." He said.

"But James" Devon said.

"Please,Devon.Just understand that I don't love you anymore." He said.

"Fine! Go and don't ever come back! And promise me that you'll never regret this day that you broke up with me?!" she said.angrily.

"I promise" James said.

"Leave and don't ever come back!"

After Devon said that James left..It was the most painful day for her...she regretted everything.

End of Flashback


"And yeah that's it." Devon said and smiled.


"Are you sure you are really moving on after what happened?" Sam asked.


"Yeah,and besides it's already two months ago since that stupid guy left me." she said.She took a sip from her coffee and stand from her seat.


"Okay,where are you going?" Sam asked.


"My cousin,Fretzie is outside..You wanna come?" She asked.


"Yeah sure." He stand  from his seat and left with Devon...

After taking Devon home and got to his house,Quen texted Fretzie and Coleen saying..


"Guys,Devz is moving on..she said it to me this morning..but she kept a promise :/" 


Fretzie's and Leen's phone beeped and read the message...after reading the message fretzie replied to Quen's message saying..


"Really? Great! But what's the promise?"


When Leen read the message,she quickly replied..


"Good for her,She will not cry again everyday..What's the promise?"


Quen read the reply of the two..he replied saying..


"She said that........She will never  love again. :/"


After Fretz and Leen read the Quen's reply they both have the same message saying...


"What?!"


After reading the message of the two,he replied...


"Yeah,she said that and like you two I was shocked,I never thought that she will make a promise something like that...Oh well! I'm gonna take a rest,I will just tell you what was Devon and me talking about this morning..Goodnight Ladies :)"


The two replied..


"Kay,Goodnight"

Quen texted Devon..


"Hey where are you?"


Devz done taking a shower she changed clothes and check her phone and got 1 message from Enrique....when she read it...she replied..


Text Convo:
"I'm going there..just wait for me for about 20 minutes..kay?"
"Okay..and don't forget to bring food okay?"
"Why me?!"
"Just bring food,Kay? haha" 
"Fine...just wait for me"
"Kay"

after that Devon went to buy food and went to Quen's house...


"What took you so long?" Quen asked.


"Remember! I bought food" she said.


"Ahh right" He said and laughed


"So let's start watching movies..Remember,we're gonna watch until 10:00 in the evening"

They started to watch movies...they first watched the movie "A Walk to Remember" and so on..

Sam went to Arron's house to continue what they are doing yesterday....


Sam is good at singing and Arron is good at dancing so they decided  that Sam will sing while Arron was dancing..the two was making fun of themselves but they enjoyed it...When they got tired Sam went home and Arron took a rest..

After watching a movie Devz decided to sleep at Enrique's house..


"I'm gonna sleep here" she said,while cleaning up their mess.


"Okay" Quen said while helping Devz.


After cleaning up they're tired so they decided to sleep...Devz  went to the guest room and lay in the bed..but cant sleep still thinking of something...

Next Day...


Sam woke up early,when he got up,he looked for Devon's picture but didn't saw it where he put it last night.He got up from his bed and brushed his teeth,after brushing,he looked around his room to find Devon's picture,but he didn't found it.He thought maybe the wind flew it away,he didn't bother to look for it anymore.He said to himself that he and Devon will meet again,soon.

Devs woke up early.After half an hour,she's done brushing,washing her face,change clothes and comb her hair.She went outside to clear her mind from everything.When she's about to pass the house next to hers,she saw a picture on the sidewalk,in front of the house.She picked it up and looked who's on the picture,at first she didn't recognized who's in it but when she looked at it closely,she realized that she's the girl in the picture...


"Maybe Sam owns this." Devs said to herself.


Devon didn't knocked on the house in front of her,she just runs to the park and kept the picture.She somehow doesn't want to see Sam for now.Her mind was still confused about everything that's happening to her.She doesn't want to talk to anyone except for her cousin and bestfriends.She went to the park and texted Quen..


Text Convo:
"Quen,meet me at the park.Please? I just need someone to talk to."
"6:45 in the morning and you're there in the park? Why so early? Is it about him again?"
"Please Quen,I need someone to talk."
"Ok,ok.I'll be there after 30 minutes.Kay?
"Kay."
End of text convo..


After 30 minutes of waiting,Quen came and saw Devs sitting at one of the benches..


"Hey!" he said and sat beside Devs.


"Hey" she said.


"So what are we gonna talk about?"  Quen asked.


"I have something to tell you" she said.


"What is it?" he asked.


"I'm moving on." she said with a sad smile on her face.


"You sure?" 


"Yes.I'm tired of crying everyday." she said.


"Kay, and it's been about two months ago since James left you" 


"Yeah, but please Quen, I dont wanna hear his name again, specially when I've already moving on...Kay?" she said.


"Okay,so what are you gonna do now?" Quen asked..


"I dont know,but I want you,Leen and Fretz to help me move on..kay?"


"Okay" he said.


"And I made a promise to myself." she said.


"What is that promise?" he asked nervously. he was thinking what promise is it.


"I promised myself that......I would never love again." she said looking at Enrique.


"What?! Devs you cant do that to yourself!" he said.


"I dont know,Quen..It's just that I dont want to be hurt again.Please understand?"


"Okay fine..as long as it wont hurt you.Kay?" 


"Okay" she said and smiled. But still Quen can see pain and sadness in her eyes.


"Hmmmm,so you wanna eat?" he asked.


"Hmmmm,Yes!" she said excitedly.


"Oh well,she's back!" he said teasingly and laughed.


"Hey!" Devs said and slapped Quen's arm which made quen laugh again


"Uh oh! the metal hands are back!" he said and laughed.


Devon laughed and said "Let's go! I'm already hungry!"


"Okay,Let's Go! my treat" he said and smiled.


"Thank God!" Devs said and laughed.


Devon and Enrique went to a restaurant and ate lunch.

Sam went to Arron's house...when he got there he knocked on the door and Arron opened it.He went inside and took a sit.


"Hey Bro! what's up?" Arron said.


"I lost the picture." Sam said,sadly.


Arron looked at Sam's expression and secretly laughed. "So?!" he said.


"Ahh! Never mind!" Sam said.


"So what are we gonna do today,bro?"


"I dont know,maybe hangout somewhere?"


"Hmmm,maybe lets play some music in my room?"


"Yeah! that would be great."


"Okay"


They got upstairs and went inside Arron's room.When they got there,Arron handed a guitar to Sam and played music all day...


"Bro, I need to go home.I'm tired.See you tomorrow,I guess?" Sam said.


"Okay" 


after that Sam went home and had dinner,after eating he changed clothes and had a rest...

Devon went inside her house,changed clothes and had a rest..

Sam was walking around the park when he saw a girl sitting at one of the bench,looking up in the sky with her eyes closed and tears falling from her eyes.He was near her and couldn't help but took a picture of her which made her opened her eyes and she looked at him for a while and then she looked up again in the sky and closed her eyes.He sat beside her and asked..


"Why are you crying?" Sam asked.The girl opened her eyes and looked at Sam.

"Why you asking? I don't know you" The girl said.

"Yeah I know you don't know me.I'm just curious,why are you crying?" Sam said.

"Nothing.And don't bother asking why.It just hurts me,you know?! I hate it!" The girl said and tears came running down to her face again.And Sam wiped it.

"Okay.Don't cry.You'll move on someday" Sam said and smiled to her.

She smiled at him sadly."Well,it's easy for you to say that cause you don't even know what my problem is!"

"I may not know what it is but I know what you're feeling right now" Sam said.

Somehow the girl felt comfortable but she still can't forget it,it's not that easy for her."Maybe you do.Have you had a girlfriend?" she asked.

"No,doesn't have any before.Still can't find the girl I will love for the rest of my life.And forgot to ask,what's you name?" He said and smiled.

"That cute,angelic face still haven't had a girlfriend?" she said and laughed."My name is Devon,Devon Seron.You?" She said with a smile on her face.

"Oh Devon,My name is Samuel,Samuel Concepcion but just call me 'Sam'.Kay?" He said.

"Yeah sure.Uhmm..I need to go..I will meet my friends.So,I guess we'll meet again someday" she said.

"When will that be?" he said laughing."Kay.Bye and see you soon.Again" He said smiling.

"Kay" Devon said and leaves.

Sam forgot to get her number but she's already gone.He decided to go to Arron's house.

Devon went to the Coffee Shop where she will meet with Fretzie and Enrique.She went where the two was sitting and sat on one of the chairs.


"What took you so long,Devs?" Fretzie said.

"Sorry .I just went to the park and someone talked to me,that's why I took so long." Devs said.

"Who talked to you?" Fretzie asked curiously.

"His name is Samuel Concepcion" she said.

"Who is he?" Enrique asked.

"I don't know who is he.He saw me crying and he sat beside me then asked why I'm crying and that started our conversation." Devs said.

"You cried again? You still haven't move on? Devs you're just hurting yourself!" Fretz said.

"I know! It's still hurts,Fretz" Devs said.tears came running down her face again.

"Shh.It's okay,Devs.Just don't hurt yourself just because of him" fretz said.

"Fretzie's right.Don't hurt yourself.He doesn't deserve you" Quen said and smiled.

"Thanks.I'm lucky to have two around.Where's Leen?" Devs asked.

"Leen's studying for her exam the day after tomorrow." Fretz said.

"Oh,I see." Devs said.

They decided to take Devs home so she could rest.Fretz and Quen got home too.They need a rest.

Sam knocked at Arron's door.


Arron opened it and saw Sam.

"So what's up? Look so happy huh?" Arron said and laughed.

Sam laughed. "Do I look happy?" He said.jokingly.

"Yeah! And it's so obvious.Is it about a girl?" Arron said.

"Yeah,and her name is Devon Seron."He said.

"Nice.Looks like you really like her.do you?" Arron said and laughed.

"Maybe,I don't know.But when I saw her a while ago in the park,she's crying.Don't know why." Sam said.

Arron looked at Sam's face expression and laugh.He never seen hi bestfriend in that expression.

"Why you laughing?!" Sam asked.

"Nothing don't mind me." Arron said."Do you have a picture of her?"

"Yeah.It was stolen.that's when I saw her crying." Sam said.Showing the picture to Arron.

"She's pretty." Arron said.

"I know right?!" Sam laughed."I need to go.I need some rest.See you tomorrow?"

"Yeah sure." Arron said.

Sam leaves and went home.He's tired and need to rest.When he got home he looked at Devon's picture and fell asleep.

Characters:


Samuel Concepcion - 19 years of age.Known by the name "Sam".He came from a rich family but somehow he's not that arrogant kid or some unkind person.He has the talent of singing,dancing,etc.,but he doesn't give much time for that.He doesn't live with his parents anymore,he wants to live a life by himself.He always brings his camera with him,he likes to take pictures of different things around him.He doesn't even have a girlfriend,as he said he still haven't found the girl he will love for the rest of his life.

Devon Seron - 19 years of age.Her friends calls her "Devs".She came from a rich family,somehow she's a down to earth person.she has the talent of singing,dancing,etc.,but she only gives time for her dancing,she don't sing that much.She's always not in herself after her ex-boyfriend broke up with her,it hurts her so much.But she's still lucky to have her friends around.


James Reid - 19 years of age.Devon's ex-boyfriend.He really love Devon but he need to let her go even if it hurts her that much.He has to leave to go to Australia.


Fretzie Bercede - 19 years of age.Her friends call her "Fretz".Devon's cousin.


Coleen Garcia - 19 years of age.Her friends call her "Leen".Devon's Bestfriend.


Enrique Gil - 19 years of age.Known as "Quen".
Devon's Bestfriend and also known as Devon's "crying shoulder".
Coleen's Boyfriend.


Arron Villaflor - Same age as "Sam".Sam's Bestfriend.
